Clinic Educator - MA

The Center for Family Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center located in Jackson Michigan.  Our mission is: Opening the Doors to Healthcare for All.  We provide primary healthcare and dental services regardless of an individual's ability to pay.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Trains, mentors, and coaches Medical Assistants on clinical policies, procedures, and practices within the scope of licensure.
• Evaluates and validates competency teaching of new hires, develops education/training plan to mitigate clinical competency gaps and identified needs. Uses standard tools, templates, and processes in training development, competency validation, and documentation.
• Collaborates with Chief Operations Officer and Operational Leadership staff to facilitate coordinated onboarding for new Medical Assistants.
• Develops and/or refines educational material and course documentation which includes educational and clinic based activities. Evaluates educational effectiveness, revises, and documents improvements to current program.
• Assists in the assessment of learning requirements; develops and implements educational plan to address identified enhancements to the program; proposes modifications to Chief Operating Officer and Operational Leadership. Seeks out provider input related to Medical Assistant competency and training needs.
• Supports organizational initiatives by participating in workflow development, go live support, and ongoing reinforcement of standard work and best practice.
• Collaborates with a variety of personnel and departments to ensure smooth clinic operations.
• Will occasionally work in the capacity of Medical Assistant if needed due to low staffing levels.

Education/Training/Experience:

• High School Graduate
• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.
• Minimum of 2 years experience as a Medical Assistant.
• Previous experience as an educator or Lead Medical Assistant Preferred.
