Dental Aide

The Center for Family Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center located in Jackson Michigan. Our mission is: Opening the Doors to Healthcare for All. We provide primary healthcare and dental services regardless of an individual's ability to pay.

The Center for Family Health currently has a position open for a Dental Aide.  This is a full-time, non-exempt position. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work in a team environment are necessary for success in this position.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist with set-up and clean-up of dental operatories for both the dentist and dental hygienist
• Instrument management-including packaging instruments, running autoclaves and other sterilizing equipment
• Stocking instruments in rooms and drawers, maintaining hand pieces
• Routine spore testing and sterilization strips for autoclaves
• Break down room after procedures, sterilize equipment and prepare for next use
• Assist with supply management-ordering, stocking and maintaining inventory
• Dental laboratory-assist with case management and pouring up models
• Check dental clinical message line throughout the day and take messages
• Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work practices and instructions
• Clean lab equipment (i.e. lathe trays and pumice wheels, etc.)
• Clean lab countertops as needed

Education/Training/Experience

• Previous experience in health care or dental preferred
