Health Information Management Support Specialist

 The Center for Family Health currently has an opeing for a Health Information Management Support Specialist at our Downtown location.

Under supervision of the Health Information Manager, this position provides oversight and assistance to Electronic Health Record (EHR) users.   This includes development, training and support to providers and staff to ensure documentation best practices.  The HIM Support Specialist will also provide skilled and competent coverage for all job descriptions with the Health Information Department.

Minimum qualifications include an Associate's degree in a related field or equivalent experience in an ambulatory/outpatient setting that utilizes an electronic health record system.  Basic knowledge of medical terminology. Basic knowledge of Principles of Confidentiality and Release of Information Guidelines.  Experience with HIPAA compliance and oversight.   Information Technologies or Electronic Health Record experience.  Nextgen preferred.
