Position Summary:
The Hillsdale Director works in a team situation to ensure best environment for quality patient care. This position is responsible to ensure operational activities at CFH's Hillsdale County site as well as functioning and using best judgment within CFH's guidelines, policies and procedures. This position may be filled by a clinical person who will utilize clinical skills as appropriate to ensure services are carried out.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Hires, trains, orients, supervises, coaches and disciplines assigned staff as necessary to maintain a well-run clinic.
Works with HR and Quality Directors to develop and implement educational and in-service programs.
Oversees general operation of CFH's Hillsdale medical services including insuring that appropriate supplies, equipment, patient scheduling, utilization of staff, support staff, productivity standards, laboratory functions, patient communication, referral systems, patient phone management are in place and utilized. Assists in clinic as needed in emergencies/unusual circumstances.
Participates in recruiting and orientation of new providers, volunteers, board members and staff education, insuring continuing education for staff.
Plans and carries out staff meetings on a regular basis
Participates in formulating policies and seeing that policies and standards are carried out and adhered to
Assists in designing, implementing, and carrying out continuous quality improvements, programs, and activities
Consults frequently with providers, leadership, staff, peers to ensure program implementation and issue resolution maximizing the ability to meet the CFH mission.
Works cooperatively with clinical directors to resolve issues specific to the provider staff.
Insures that all items designated in position descriptions reporting to this position are carried out successfully.
Upholds and promotes CFH human resources policies and procedures.
Adheres to required funding agency criteria and assists with grant writing for applicable programs
Coordinates clinic operation and total patient care in order to maintain an efficient clinic
Assists in developing protocols for carrying out health care and utilized in providing care
Participates in interdisciplinary planning for meeting patient care and health service objectives
Ensures appropriate support systems for patients, i.e., translation, transportation, etc.
Participates and is knowledgeable of Federal and State requirements
Participates in quarterly audits. Responsible in ensuring Federal requirements for clinical measures are consistently applied
CLA/OSHA oversees quality measures standards in lab for proficiency of staff
Coordinates staff proficiency through annual evaluations and ongoing monitoring of Hillsdale staff
Coordinates and assists with practice codes, emergency situations, fire drills (twice a year)
Participates in State/Federal reviews, credentialing and inspections as needed
Oversees triage ensuring adherence to protocols and consistency of staff
Assists as liaison between medical providers and support staff ensuring proper team functions
Participates in coordination of special programs (cancer screening, teen program, stop smoking, etc)
Maintains current knowledge of trends and best practices in ambulatory/community health centers. Identifies and implements best practices and standards utilizing internal and external resources in coordination with management team
Ensures compliance with organization policies and procedures as well as external standards and regulations including Joint Commission, HRSA/BPHC, MDCH, etc. Develops and implements corrective action plans when deviations occur
Other duties as assigned
Experience: 5 - 7 years of relevant experience and 3 - 5 of Marketing or Public Relations experience preferred.
Education: Bachelor degree required, Master degree preferred.
Other Skills: Excellent customer service skills and compassion for patients required. Basic computer user skills required, with the ability to document electronically clearly and efficiently. Excellent oral communications skills required. Must be able to work well with the team and independently.
