Outreach and Enrollment Coordinator

The Center for Family Health is a Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) located in Jackson, Michigan. We are a multi-specialty clinic with practitioners specializing in the areas of Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, Pediatrics, and Ob/Gyn. Our agency has expanded greatly over the years and now has our medical, dental, pharmacy and support services as well as four school-based health centers in the Jackson area. We currently have an open position for an Outreach and Enrollment Coordinator. This is an hourly, non-exempt full-time position.


Position Summary:

Increase public awareness of services and affordable healthcare options available at the Center for Family Health. Represent CFH in public outreach activities.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Excellent customer service skills- understand and demonstrate the importance of great customer service
  • Provide structured education on health coverage, provide follow up information as needed.
  • Provide initial and re-enrollment assistance, complete application(s) with appropriate documentation, problem solve gaps in health coverage
  • Coordinate Outreach activities inside and outside of the Center. Take lead in conducting and distributing outreach materials to help build health coverage option awareness.
  • Plan, document and initiate engagement strategies to increase awareness of CFH services
  • Provide appropriate referrals, support and linkage to care
  • Schedule may include night and weekend hours.
  • Insure accuracy of all outreach and enrollment data collection

Uninsured and Self- Pay Review:

  • Collect and record transactions in Practice Management system. Daily reconcile PM batch to cash receipts
  • Assist in reducing self-pay receivable balances
  • Monitor and verify program eligibility through appropriate databases
  • Arrange payment plans, follow up, and or refer delinquent accounts to collection agency
  • Add or forward insurance information to insurance billing staff
  • Record results of direct/telephone contacts in PM system
  • Communicate account status and exceptions to the Patient Accounts Manager
  • Conform with and abide by all regulations, policies, work practices and instructions.

Education/Training/Experience:

  • Minimum of High School Diploma.
  • Previous experience working with the public

Job Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Excellent Customer Service Skills
  • Computer experience with Microsoft Office
  • Technical ability to set up equipment for presentations
  • Ability to work effectively and independently within their work area.
  • Demonstrates understanding and appreciation for diversity for CFH patients and CFH employees
  • Routine testing/training on various job related skills and competencies
